Progress
Case iteration 4 has been made, based off of this sketch from last week! The idea was to make the case more wrist shaped.
Two attempts have been made with this case design so far. The only difference is the angle that the tabs are at. The first one started at a more mild angle, but that didn’t fit small wrists very well.
So I adjusted it to give the tabs a more severe angle. This ended up fitting my wrist much better. Not perfect - it needs to sit a little higher up my arm than I would prefer, but it is much closer than it was before. It fits Brandon Noirot’s wrist perfectly.
The case still needs to be modified to allow for the motor wires and the switch, wherever that ends up. The walls are also pretty thin which requires the cap to be secured with teeny M1.2 screws. The holes for these don’t print very well, so it would be best to widen the case by a few millimeters to allow more room for a larger screw.
As for the PCB, they just arrived and I am awaiting components, which will supposedly arrive on Thursday. Here it is compared to both the Trinket and the original shield.
There is one slight problem with the new shield and it’s that the pins are backwards from the Trinket. The plan was for the shield to sit on top of the trinket, oriented in the same direction like it is above. It will have to be turned 180 though until a new order for a fixed version can be put in. Because this project is supposed to be done in a week, I’ll have to make do.
Goals accomplished from last week:
Continued case refinement
Next week:
Continue case refinement + address the problems with it
Conduct testing once PCB components arrive
